Jessica Estrada graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She attended South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston graduating in 2007. Prior to passing the State Bar Exam, Jessica was chosen as a pre-commitment prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Out of over 1,000 nationwide applicants, only eight third year law school students were offered this position.

As a prosecutor, Jessica quickly rose to the top of her pre-commitment class. She was consistently promoted over her peers to every position in the trial bureau. At the time of her departure into the private sector, Jessica successfully tried over 50 jury trials. Jessica has tried every type of criminal case: from simple possessions of a controlled substance to complex murders. As a prosecutor, Jessica was chosen as a faculty advisor at the Texas District and County Attorneys Association Prosecutor Trial Skills Course. Jessica's reputation as a tough, smart trial attorney has carried over into her practice as a criminal defense attorney.
